CAL Square 6

Welcome back! We are here for the release of our sixth square for this CAL! We will be releasing one square every Monday at 2:00 pm central time!

If you're making the scarf you will need a total of 12 squares, so you will need 1 of each square. If you're making the afghan you will need a total of 48 squares, so you will need 4 of each square. But if some of the squares don't appeal to you, you can substitute that square for another that you do love. The choice is really up to you!

Filler DC Square
Pattern by: Sari Kumar


Dimensions: 6" x 6" approximately
Hook: Size 5mm or H 
Yarn: Worsted Weight/Aran in 4 colors A, B, C, D

Stitches
CH = chain 
SC = single crochet (US terms) 
DC = double crochet (US terms) 
Sl st = slip stitch

PATTERN
Filler DC square - colors A, B, C, D

Square can also be done all in one color if you prefer.

CH 23 with Color A 
Row 1: DC 1 into 5th chain from hook. (DC1, CH1) until end of row ending with DC1. 
Row 2: CH4 (counts as 1st DC and CH1), (DC1, CH1 in each CH1 space from previous round) ending with DC1. 
Row 3: repeat row 2. Bind off color A 
Row 4: Join color B in last DC with sl st. Repeat row 2. Bind off color B. 
Row 5: Repeat Row 4 with color C. 
Row 6: Repeat Row 4 with color B. 
Row 7: Repeat Row 4 with color C. 
Row 8: Repeat Row 4 with color D. Do not bind off color D. 

Border: With Color D, SC1 in all CH1 and DC1 stitches across. 3SC in corner. 2SC in each side DC post, SC1 in between DC posts across the edge. 3SC in corner space. 2SC in each side DC post, SC1 in between DC posts across last edge. 3SC in corner, join with beginning SC with slip stitch. Bind off.
