If you are making the scarf you should now have 1 continuous strip of all 12 sections and you will not be required to join anything and you will skip ahead to the border. If you are making the afghan you should now have a total of 8 strips, 4 strips of weeks 1-6, and 4 strips of weeks 7-12. You will be joining these strips and adding a border to the completed afghan.

*If you are making the scarf, please skip ahead to the border*

JOINING

When joining your strips, remember to keep the right sides on the same side.

For joining your strips our designers have agreed that the mattress stitch will be the best option. Here is a link for a mattress stitch tutorial.

BORDER

With a color of your choice
Cast on 3sts, turn sts around so working yarn is at the left end.
With RS of blanket faceing, *pick up 1 st from edge of blanket. Slide 4 sts over to opposite end of needle. Bring yarn around back of work, then K2. K2togtbl. Repeat from * around all edges of blanket. When you reach the end, SL1, K2tog, PSSO. Sew beginning and end of applied i-cord together.

If this joining or border don't appeal to you, feel free to put your own spin on this KAL, use a different stitch to join or add more to the border, it's really up to you! It's been a pleasure stitching with you all the past few weeks, and we hope to see you here again some day!
