KAL Introduction 2015

Welcome everyone! This is the first official stitch-along! Which due to popular demand will include both a crochet and knit version! This pattern is designed by members of our Facebook Group.

For the knit version of this stitch-along we will be releasing a square of sorts every week, but you will work each "square" into the next. We will be focusing on making either a scarf or an afghan. For the scarf you will work each weeks pattern on top of the previous weeks pattern, so no joining will be required (yay!). For the afghan you will work up 4 strips with weeks 1-6, and 4 strips with weeks 7-12 for a total of 8 strips which you will then join to form your afghan.

The KAL will be designed using worsted weight yarn, with size 8 (5mm) needles, and will be written in US terms. You, however, are free to use whichever type of yarn you choose to buy or anything from your stash, and whichever needles are correct for the type of yarn you're using. Take note, this may change the size of your finished project but since we are not making clothing, size doesn't matter!

The finished scarf will be approximately 6" x 72", and the afghan will be approximately 36" x 48" (plus border and joining). Remember, this is subject to change based on yarn, needle size, and everyone's personal tension.

Each pattern will be released here on Monday at 2:00 pm (central time) starting on May 4, 2015 and the final pattern will be released on July 20, 2015. It's never too late to start, so join in when you can! Also join our Facebook group to share your progress! See you then!
