If you're making the scarf you will need a total of 12 squares, so you will need 1 of each square. If you're making the afghan you will need a total of 48 squares, so you will need 4 of each square. But if some of the squares don't appeal to you, you can substitute that square for another that you do love. The choice is really up to you!

Trinity Dragonfly
Pattern By: Valley Weaver
You will need:
Yarn: worsted weight - I used Red Heart Love
Colors: I only used one color to show off the dragonflies
Hook: size “H” or 5.0mm
Stitches Key:
sl st – slip stitch st – stitch
ch – chain tr – treble/triple crochet
dc – double crochet sc – single crochet
To begin: ch 25
Row 1 Hdc into the 2nd ch from the hook
and in each ch across (23 hdc). Ch 2, turn.

Row 3 Dc in next 8sts, ch7, skip 7sts, dc in next
8sts (23sts) Ch 2, turn.
Row 4 Dc in next 8sts, ch2, trbl crochet into the
middle st of the skipped 5 sts of row 2, (being sure to catch both ch5 and ch7
in your trbl) ch2, dc in remaing 8sts (21sts). Ch1, turn.

Row 6 Dc in each sc across (23dc). Ch 2, turn.
Row 7 Repeat
row 6. (23dc)
Row 8 Dc in next 3sts, ch5, skip 5sts, dc in next
7sts, ch5, skip 5sts, dc in last 3sts (23sts).
Ch2, turn.
Row 9 Dc in first 2 dc, ch7, skip 7sts, dc in next
5sts, ch7, skip 7sts, dc in last 2 dc. (23sts) Ch2, turn.
Row 10 Dc in first 3dc, ch2, trbl into the middle st
of the 5 skipped sts two rows below (see row 4 for more details), ch2, dc in
next 5sts, ch2, trbl into the middle st of the 5 skipped sts two rows below, ch2,
dc in last 3sts (21sts ). Ch1, turn.
Row 11 Sc in first 2sts, 3sc in ch2 space, sc in the
trbl st, 3sc in the ch2 space, sc in the next 5sts, 3sc in the ch2 space, sc in
the trbl st, 3sc in the ch2 space, sc in the last 2sts (back to 23 sts ). Ch2,
turn.
Row 12 Make a
dc in each st across (23 dcs). Ch1, turn.
Row 13 Make a hdc in each of the 23dcs across. Do
not turn (leave yarn attached) Work down the left side of the square evenly in
sc, make 3 sc in the last side st (corner made)continue across the beginning
row of the square in sc making 3sc in
the last st (2ns corner made) work in sc up the right side to the last st, work
3sc in the last st (3rd corner made), continue working across the
top 1sc in each st, work 2sc into the starting sc of the edging, slip st to top
of beginning sc and finish off.
On the side
edging, as you work down the sides try to keep your sc to 23 stitches to keep
your square, square!
If, after all this work, your square is not 6
inches, add another row of sc around the square working 3sc into each corner.
